So Long Joe?
Well this week saw an interesting turn of events in political realm, Joe Lieberman former 2000 Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee lost his own Democratic primary to political upstart Lamont. Lamont who is a loud anti-war activist (with enough money to basically fund his own campaign) used the ever growing strength of the radical leftist base within the Democratic party to upset Joe. Lieberman however has vowed to run as an independent. I for one think that two major things have come to light from this race.
#1: The democratic party is in more trouble now that it has ever been. Joe Lieberman has been a golden boy to the party since 2000, and now he cant even win his own state primary for re-election. The leftists aka Howard Dean and co. are running the show at the DNC headquarters. Hey Hillary word to the wise, no more of this pretending to be moderate, if you want your party's support you need to reveal yourself as the hard lefty you really are. Good luck winning a general election however.
#2: This might play out very interestingly to where Lamont and Lieberman split the vote and the trailing Republican candidate might actually win! Should be interesting to see how it all comes out in the wash.
